  • Travel Vaccination

    If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

    Vaccinations from the nurses are available to protect you against infections such as yellow fever, typhoid and hepatitis A.

  • Electronic Prescription Service

    The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your doctor sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.

  • Blood Tests

    A blood test is when a sample of blood is taken by a medical professional for testing in a laboratory. A blood test is when a sample of blood is taken for testing in a laboratory. They allow doctors to identify a diagnosis and follow up on certain conditions. Each blood test is chosen by the doctor for a specific problem and there is no ā€˜general blood test’.

  • Obtaining test results

    All test results are seen by a doctor. If any action is needed we will contact you by your preferred contact method asking you to book a Telephone Consultation or a Face to Face appointment with a doctor, pharmacist or a nurse.

  • View your medical records

    In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, patients (data subjects) have the right to access their data and any supplementary information held by Newton Medical Centre. This is commonly known as a data subject access request (DSAR).

  • request for housing letter

    If you wish to apply to the council for housing on health grounds, please note:Ā the Doctors and Nurses cannot issue housing letters to patients.

    The National Health Service provides most health care to most people free of charge, but there are a few exceptions. Prescription charges have existed since 1951 and there are a number of other services provided by either the doctors or nurses for which fees are charged.

    In the UK sickness certification is necessary only if you are unable to work for longer than seven calendar days. If you need a sick certificate from a doctor click here.
